Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vince Sanchez (ranked 7708 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marc Sandal (ranked 7740 p4p, 0 weight class). Marc Sandal has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Vince Sanchez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Marc Sandal!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Eliza Hachem and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sandal shoots in looking for a takedown. Sanchez tries to sprawl out of it but Sandal keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sanchez manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Sanchez connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Sandal throws a head kick that misses.
A little feinted left hand from Sanchez on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sandal darts in looking for a takedown but Sanchez gets double underhooks and turns Sandal into the cage.
Sanchez seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Sandal pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Sandal has his takedown stuffed
and Sanchez counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Vince Sanchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marc Sandal.

Sandal misses with the combination.
Nice sprawl there from Sanchez as Sandal shoots in.
Sandal blocks a head kick by Sanchez.
Sandal pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Sanchez swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Sandal fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Sanchez moves out of range of the body kick from Sandal.
Sandal doesn't manage to clinch there - Sanchez circles away.

Sandal fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Sandal obliges.
Sandal looks winded!
Sanchez tries to score a body lock takedown but Sandal shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Sandal lands a left hand that snaps the head of Sanchez backwards.

Sandal successfully pulls guard.
Sanchez will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Sanchez not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Sanchez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sanchez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sandal swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sandal looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Sandal is controlling Sanchez's posture.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sandal pushes Sanchez away with a front kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Sandal prevents the takedown attempt.

Sandal breaks from the clinch.
Horrible takedown attempt by Sandal or perhaps it was just good defense by Sanchez, which made it look bad.
Sandal throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sanchez's waist but Sanchez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sandal off to one side.
Sanchez lands with a slapping head kick.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Sandal shoots in but no luck this time.
Sanchez swats away the attempt to clinch by Sandal.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Vince Sanchez will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Sanchez clinches with his opponent.
Sanchez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sandal pulls his leg out and moves away.
Sandal tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sanchez defends well and Sandal ends up having to push Sanchez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Sanchez seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Marc Sandal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sandal has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sanchez finds it's way round the side to connect with Sandal's head.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sandal is defended easily by Sanchez.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sanchez pulls Sandal into guard.
Sanchez has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sandal stays in close to Sanchez's body and controls the position.
Sanchez pulls Sandal in close to his closed guard and prevents Sandal from doing any damage or advancing position.
Sanchez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sandal manages to get himself to full guard.

Sandal is looking for a triangle but Sanchez pushes his legs off easily.
Sanchez is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Sanchez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Sandal pulls Sanchez in close to his closed guard and prevents Sanchez from doing any damage or advancing position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Sanchez defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sandal.
As Sandal tries to get set, Sanchez tries to push him back and clinch up but Sandal manages to avoid the attempt.
Vince Sanchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marc Sandal.

Sandal is breathing heavily.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Sanchez closes the distance and clinches.
Sanchez jumps guard but Sandal stands there with Sanchez around his waist. Sanchez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Vince Sanchez dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Sandal rushes Sanchez and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Sanchez has hold of one of Sandal's legs. Sandal is fighting the takedown attempt but Sanchez gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sandal sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sanchez's guard.

Sanchez regains full guard. Nicely done.
Sandal throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Sanchez works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Vince Sanchez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Sandal drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sandal jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Sandal takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Sanchez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Sanchez wants it to stay on the feet.

Sanchez throws a counter high kick but Sandal was just alert enough to avoid it.

Vince Sanchez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Marc Sandal comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Sanchez has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
