Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jeremy Curtis (ranked 3764 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Morte (ranked 5998 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Dirk Anderson and Winston Alpacca.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morte throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Curtis shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Curtis showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morte is trying is best to control the position here.
Morte is looking to escape.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morte keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Curtis is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Curtis is trying to work for a kimura but Morte is defending well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Curtis is looking to take a break and control but Morte is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Curtis sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Morte 's guard.
Curtis is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Morte can do to turn this around?

Curtis wants to work for an arm triangle but Morte is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Curtis with the ground and pound but Morte uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Morte tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Curtis wants to pass the guard but Morte is keeping the position.

Morte keeping moving, preventing Curtis from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Curtis feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Curtis thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Morte tries to buck Curtis off but Curtis is having none of it.
Jeremy Curtis overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Morte throws a punch from the bottom, which has left him a bit exposed here… Curtis has an arm triangle now. This could be big trouble for Morte . He's out! He's out cold! The ref pulls Curtis off and Curtis celebrates with his corner.
