Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Logan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stelios Nicosiou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nicosiou has chosen Shit it down as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Logan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stelios Nicosiou!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Hugh Johnson and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Nicosiou, as that shot connected.
Logan shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nicosiou pinned against the cage. Nicosiou gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nicosiou ducks under a wild hook from Logan.
Nicosiou swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Logan.

It looks like James Logan has been cut.
Nicosiou stuffs the takedown attempt from Logan. Logan gets slowly back to his feet.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Nicosiou, right into the meat.
Nicosiou digs a good hook to Logan's body.
James Logan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nicosiou with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Nicosiou shoots for a double leg takedown but Logan sprawls well. He's pushed Nicosiou's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Nicosiou counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Logan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nicosiou wants to pass the guard but Logan is keeping the position.
Logan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Logan is trying to hold Nicosiou in close to prevent damage but Nicosiou has managed to pass into half guard.

Logan manages to get to full guard.
Nicosiou trying to control the position from guard on top but Logan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Nicosiou postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Logan is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Nicosiou, into his guard.
Logan wants to pass the guard but Nicosiou is keeping the position.
Logan forces his way into half guard.

Nicosiou is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Nicosiou trying to control but Logan postures up.
Logan prevents Nicosiou from improving his position.

Logan seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Nicosiou has recovered full guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Logan controls from within his opponent's guard.

Nicosiou has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Logan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Nicosiou escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Logan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Nicosiou is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Nicosiou is looking for a triangle but Logan pushes his legs off easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Logan wants to control from the top but Nicosiou keeps moving.
Logan passes into half guard.
Logan passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Nicosiou!
Nicosiou tries to reverse the position but Logan maintains control.
Logan trying to control but Nicosiou is having none of it.
Logan looking to control and managing it successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nicosiou misses with a wild combination.
Logan fails with the takedown
and Nicosiou counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Logan is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Nicosiou fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Nicosiou keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Nicosiou feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Nicosiou drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nicosiou jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Logan manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Logan tries to control but Nicosiou wriggling away.
Logan is really struggling to control Nicosiou but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Nicosiou slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

Nicosiou is refusing to be controlled, as Logan sits in half guard.
Nicosiou tries to roll over but Logan keeps him under control.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Nicosiou is looking to improve his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Logan scores with a takedown into Nicosiou's guard.

Nicosiou working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Logan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Logan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

A close second round but Stelios Nicosiou will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Logan takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Logan fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Nicosiou sprawls well initially but Logan persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Logan takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Logan has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Logan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nicosiou is looking to escape.

Logan can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nicosiou is looking to escape.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

James Logan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Logan wants to control the pace but Nicosiou is squirming around nicely.
Logan tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The referee stands the fighters back up. James Logan just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Logan tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Nicosiou drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Logan dives on top into guard.

Nicosiou had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Logan is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nicosiou Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Logan's back instead.

Logan wants to sweep here but Nicosiou controlling him for the moment.
