Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Buddy Quincy (ranked 24859 p4p, 680 weight class) and Percy Williams (ranked 24197 p4p, 676 weight class). The key to victory for Buddy Quincy has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Buddy Quincy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Percy Williams!
The judges for this bout are Ben Hemmingworth, Winston Howard and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Quincy enables Williams to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Quincy manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Quincy has his foot on Williams's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Williams works his way back into a safe position though.

Williams drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Quincy manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Williams has Quincy in his guard.

Williams is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Our spies down at at Arvins Bootcamp inform us that Williams has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Quincy postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Williams is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Quincy, into his guard.

Quincy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Williams manages to get himself to full guard.

That was a close round but I would say that Buddy Quincy will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



The fight moves into the clinch position.
Williams wants a takedown but no success here.
Williams is looking to control Quincy's arms but Quincy gets an underhook and turns him. Now Williams has his back to the cage.
Williams drops down looking for an ankle pick but Quincy pulls his leg out and moves away.
Quincy fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Williams avoids it really well and circles away.
Williams is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Williams is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Quincy defends it well.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Percy Williams showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Williams decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Williams feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

I think Williams has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
