Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Remy Lacroix (ranked 2585 p4p, 302 weight class) and Tony Miyazaki (ranked 4192 p4p, 465 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Remy Lacroix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tony Miyazaki!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Anni Minnemäki and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Lacroix, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Some wild striking there from Miyazaki.
Lacroix lands a head shot.
Miyazaki has his takedown stuffed
and Lacroix connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Miyazaki throws a sloppy head kick
enabling Lacroix to counter with a crisp jab.
Miyazaki throws a head kick that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice uppercut lands for Lacroix. That snapped Miyazaki's head back.
Miyazaki tries to clinch but Lacroix moves out of range.
It looked like Lacroix was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Miyazaki.
Lacroix connects with a good right hand that stumbles Miyazaki. Miyazaki circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
A decent looking cross lands there for Lacroix.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Miyazaki takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Lacroix connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

and Miyazaki counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Miyazaki.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Lacroix might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Lacroix controls Miyazaki momentarily but Miyazaki frees himself.
Miyazaki is fighting to break Lacroix's control of his arms but Lacroix is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
My spies in 3Band MMA ($800/week) inform me that Miyazaki has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Miyazaki feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Lacroix knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Miyazaki on the ground.

Miyazaki is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Miyazaki is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Lacroix's half guard.

Miyazaki is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Lacroix as he works his way to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Lacroix holds on and takes a little breather.

Miyazaki has gone for a leg lock! Lacroix slips out almost immediately though and dives into Miyazaki's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Miyazaki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Lacroix goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

and Lacroix counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Lacroix thuds his right hand into Miyazaki's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Miyazaki shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Lacroix as he jumps to the side.
Remy Lacroix has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Miyazaki.
Miyazaki tries to close the distance and clinch up but Lacroix swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Lacroix went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Miyazaki shoots for a double leg takedown but Lacroix sprawls well. He's pushed Miyazaki's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lacroix looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Miyazaki throws a fast counter high kick but Lacroix manages to duck under it in time.

Miyazaki bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Miyazaki wants to control but Lacroix is keeping him busy.

Miyazaki gets to his feet. Lacroix looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Lacroix lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Lacroix lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Miyazaki at a distance.
Miyazaki wants to clinch but Lacroix slips to the side
and Lacroix cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Lacroix scores with a crisp jab that stopped Miyazaki in his tracks.
Miyazaki takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Lacroix lands a right hook to the body.
Lacroix closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Lacroix connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Miyazaki's hands.
Miyazaki is still on wobbly legs! Can Lacroix finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lacroix walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Miyazaki drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Lacroix swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Miyazaki's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Remy Lacroix!
