Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bradford Boyd (ranked 6861 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johny Evans (ranked 3822 p4p, 0 weight class). Johny Evans has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Bradford Boyd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Johny Evans!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Steven Brown and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boyd throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Evans.

Evans bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Boyd regains half guard there - taking advantage of Evans's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Boyd really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Boyd has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Evans is working away from the top position though.
Evans lands with a punch from half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Evans is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Evans is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Boyd is staying active underneath Evans, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Evans stops Boyd from getting back to his feet.
Evans controlling the pace.
Evans passes into side control, despite Boyd's attempt to control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Evans wants to lay and pray for a moment but Boyd keeps working.
A lull in the action here as Evans stalls from top position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
You can see the frustration on Boyd's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Evans tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Evans has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Evans thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Boyd is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Evans's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Evans's back!

Evans controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad spot.
Evans trying to control the hands but Boyd won't let him.
Will Boyd go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Evans manages to reverse the position and now he's in Boyd's guard. Nice work there by Evans.

Evans wants to control from the top but Boyd keeps moving.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

A close round but Johny Evans will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Boyd shoots for a double leg takedown but Evans sprawls well. He's pushed Boyd's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
As Boyd backs off Evans throws a huge counter combo but Boyd manages to avoid it all.

Evans closes the distance and clinches.
Boyd tries to land knees in the clinch but Evans avoids the damage to the body.

Johny Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Boyd counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Boyd.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Boyd has Evans pressed against the cage, preventing Evans from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Evans is looking to break free of the clinch but Boyd has double underhooks.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Boyd is looking for a choke. Evans gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Evans manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Evans looking to sit in guard and control but Boyd gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Boyd wants to stand and escape but instead Evans has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Bradford Boyd will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Boyd is refusing to be controlled, as Evans sits in half guard.
Evans working over Boyd with some ground and pound. Boyd looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Evans in particular looking to stall.

Evans is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Boyd doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Evans.

Johny Evans comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Evans has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
