PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Uebalo Kolenom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Hagendoorn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Hagendoorn's choice of entrance music: Can't Be Touched. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hagendoorn takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kolenom doesn't manage to clinch there - Hagendoorn circles away.
Hagendoorn shoots in but Kolenom avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hagendoorn closes the distance and clinches up with Kolenom, looking for a takedown. Hagendoorn pushes Kolenom against the cage but Kolenom circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Hagendoorn will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Kolenom shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kolenom showed some decent athleticism there.
Hagendoorn is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Hagendoorn drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kolenom dives on top into guard.

Hagendoorn rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kolenom moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hagendoorn is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Kolenom reverses the position - he's now on top in Hagendoorn's guard.

Kolenom throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hagendoorn.

Hagendoorn drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kolenom is on top in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

and Kolenom counters with a left and a right that stings Hagendoorn.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hagendoorn.

Kolenom feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hagendoorn throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Kolenom escapes and throws Hagendoorn's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Hagendoorn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kolenom swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hagendoorn thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hagendoorn is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Kolenom is trying to escape and Hagendoorn transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Kolenom is forced to tap! Nice work there by Hagendoorn! Very nice indeed!
