Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brent Barlow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jackson Starling!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Russell Pearce and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Starling rushes Barlow and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Barlow is trying to drag Starling to the mat but Starling just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Barlow turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Starling wants to get back to his feet but Barlow drags him back down.

Barlow working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Starling taking punishment in the form of punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barlow stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Barlow changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Starling tries to avoid it but Barlow manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Starling to the ground. Starling escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Starling has managed to clinch.

Barlow has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Starling regains guard immediately.

Starling pushes Barlow off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Barlow fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Starling, pushing him back against the cage.
Starling has a couple of punches blocked by Barlow.

Starling pulls Barlow into guard.
Starling preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Starling has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Barlow is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Barlow jumps guard but Starling stands there with Barlow around his waist. Barlow gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Starling ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Starling no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Starling is looking to stand up but Barlow isn't so interested in that idea.

Barlow throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Starling works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Barlow drops back looking for a leg! Starling is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Starling manages to kick Barlow off! Barlow jumps back into Starling's guard.

Barlow could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Starling decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Starling thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Barlow punching from the bottom.
Barlow has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Barlow wants to get back to his feet.
Barlow might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Barlow on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Barlow kicks Starling off and gets back to his feet.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Barlow closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Starling's guard.

Barlow gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Starling lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Barlow backwards.

Barlow has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Starling after a bit of a struggle.

Starling tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Barlow manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Barlow closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Starling connects with a nice short shot to Barlow's temple.
Starling is looking to take a break and control but Barlow is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Barlow working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Starling doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Starling manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Well Starling has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
