Coming up we have a light heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Aloysius Martin Thesz (ranked 3194 p4p, 417 weight class) and Rafael Vieira (ranked 2863 p4p, 0 weight class). Vieira has chosen Machine Gun Kelly–Till I Die as his entrance music. Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

In the red corner, competing out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 11 wins and 10 losses; Aloysius Martin Thesz! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 2 losses; Rafael Vieira!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Vieira is trying to trip Thesz. He has hold of a leg but Thesz is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Vieira persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Vieira drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Thesz manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Vieira has Thesz in his guard.

Vieira felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

We've been hearing good reports from Thesz's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Thesz seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Vieira for as long as he can get away with.

Vieira is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Thesz off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
