Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Minh Puckett (ranked 25225 p4p, 0 weight class) and Train Dummy (ranked 4023 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Minh Puckett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Train Dummy!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dummy throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Dummy throws out a leg kick but Puckett moves out of range and Dummy only half commits.

Puckett manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dummy on his heels. He'll look to pass Dummy's guard now, I'm sure.
Puckett postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Puckett landing some decent shots from guard.
Puckett stands up over Dummy, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Dummy really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Puckett. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dummy throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Puckett postures up in Dummy's guard and throws a big left but Dummy blocks it.

Puckett is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Puckett might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Puckett is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Dummy pulls Puckett in close to prevent any damage.

Puckett drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dummy looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dummy looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dummy!

Dummy slows the pace down.
Dummy tries to move into full mount but can't pass Puckett's legs.
Puckett pushes Dummy away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Dummy gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Who's going to make the next move?

Dummy decides to stand back up.

Dummy closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Puckett did well to prevent Dummy getting side control.

Dummy looks to score with a jab to the body but Puckett is just out of range.
Puckett appears to be looking for a big counter.
The fight stays on the outside here - Puckett looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Dummy drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Dummy stays in close to Puckett's body and controls the position.

Puckett is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dummy wants to stand but Puckett has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dummy is looking to stand up but Puckett won't let him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Minh Puckett will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Puckett dives in for a single leg takedown but Dummy sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Minh Puckett is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dummy throws a one two combo.
Puckett avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Puckett takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


It looks like Minh Puckett has been cut.

Dummy is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Puckett's half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Puckett is staying active underneath Dummy, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Dummy throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Puckett tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dummy is in Puckett's guard.
Puckett controls Dummy momentarily but Dummy frees himself.
Puckett is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Dummy wants to control from the top but Puckett keeps moving.

Dummy drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dummy jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Puckett closes the distance and clinches up with Dummy, looking for a takedown. Puckett pushes Dummy against the cage but Dummy circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Minh Puckett. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dummy fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Puckett to the ground. Dummy is now in Puckett's guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Puckett wants to get back to his feet but Dummy is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Puckett working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dummy doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dummy manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dummy reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Dummy taps out! Nice BJJ there by Puckett!
