Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, David Schapiro and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Martins , who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Martins doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Rowe counters by clinching up.

Rowe manages to break the clinch.

Martins closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Martins 's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rowe prevents the takedown attempt.
Ervin Rowe has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Martins .
Martins wants to break the clinch but can't.
Rowe has had enough of the clinch but Martins keeps him there for the moment.

Martins jumps guard but Rowe turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Martins manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Martins pulls Rowe in close to prevent any damage.
Rowe is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Rowe throws a big right hand that misses.

Rowe with a flurry of punches that miss.
Martins not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rowe knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Martins on the ground.
Rowe wanted to stand there but Martins had control of the position.
Martins is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Rowe drives through and clinches with Martins against the cage.
Martins tries to pull guard but Rowe holds him up against the cage and eventually Martins drops back down to his feet.
Martins changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Rowe fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Martins tries a body shot but Rowe blocks it.
Rowe is trying to push Martins away but Martins has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Martins manages to pull guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rowe's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Rowe has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Martins is proving hard to escape from.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rowe throws a big elbow that misses.
Rowe keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Martins 's head.
Martins wants to control but Rowe passes easily into half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Rowe is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Martins is just riding it out for now. Rowe eventually gives up the hold.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Rowe is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ervin Rowe dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Rowe moves into the clinch.

Rowe has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Martins uses from the top position.

Rowe is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Martins can do to turn this around?

Martins has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Rowe defend it? Martins steps over the head and cranks it - Rowe is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Martins !

After the fight, Joe Martins was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
