Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Braden Szymon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oscar Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Braden Szymon !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oscar Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, John Mangel and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez rushes Szymon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Sanchez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Szymon walks away with a smile on his face. Sanchez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Szymon shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Sanchez but Sanchez pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Sanchez counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Szymon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sanchez can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sanchez avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Sanchez postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Sanchez lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Oooh a big shot gets through from Sanchez. Many more shots like that and the referee will have to think about stepping in!

Szymon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sanchez's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sanchez is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Szymon pulls his head out easily.

Szymon is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oscar Sanchez dominated that round.
That's time! Szymon 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Sanchez darts in and clinches Szymon up against the cage.
Sanchez has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Szymon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Sanchez lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Sanchez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Szymon 's head.

Szymon has momentary wrist control but Sanchez slips an elbow through the middle.

Szymon controls Sanchez momentarily but Sanchez frees himself.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Sanchez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Sanchez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Szymon is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Szymon is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
The referee warns Szymon that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Sanchez is landing with some decent strikes but Szymon is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
