Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Petties (ranked 8107 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Jones (ranked 5337 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones moves into range and clinches up with Petties.

Jones gets control of Petties's arms and successfully pulls guard. Jones will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Petties looking to sit in guard and control but Jones gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Jones has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Petties is proving hard to escape from.

Jones wants to get up but he can't break Petties's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Petties working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jones doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jones manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
