The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as King lands an impressive looking overhand right. Villa doesn't seem phased though.
King misses with a hook. Villa ducked under it nicely.
King avoids a kick to the body.
Villa slips under a jab.
Villa defending well as King loads up on a big left hand.
Villa drops down looking to force a counter takedown but King defends it well.
King throws a body kick that misses
and Villa counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Villa is sneakily working for an arm triangle but King sees it coming and defends easily.
Villa uses his free foot to push down on King's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for King.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Villa trying to control but King is having none of it.
Villa working for a guillotine from mount but King is in no mood to give up.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
King is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Villa is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Villa extends the arm and King is forced to tap!
