Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chou Farci (ranked 8612 p4p, 718 weight class) and Mike Lambert (ranked 2835 p4p, 365 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Farci might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Chou Farci (explained).. The crowd seem to be enjoying Lambert's choice of entrance music: Aaron Lewis - Country Boy. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Lambert rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Farci moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Farci counters with a good, hard body kick but Lambert shrugs it off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Farci makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Lambert throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Farci's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Lambert dives in looking to finish as Farci flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Lambert's strikes! Lambert is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Farci's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Farci was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
