The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanna connects with a looping right hand.
Ortiz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
A head kick misses from Sanna.
Ortiz takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Good leg kick by Sanna there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Ortiz takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Sanna thumps Ortiz with a low kick.
Sanna misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sanna throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sanna lands a nice leg kick that just misses Ortiz 's sensitive parts.
Sanna lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

A punch lands to the side of Ortiz 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Sanna scores with a head kick. Ortiz tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Ortiz shoots for a double leg takedown but Sanna sprawls well. He's pushed Ortiz 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Michael Sanna is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sanna thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Ortiz if he has to take too many more of those.
Sanna lands a leg kick that knocks Ortiz off balance momentarily.
Ortiz walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

Sanna ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Ortiz closes the distance and clinches up with Sanna, looking for a takedown. Ortiz pushes Sanna against the cage but Sanna circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sanna fires out a quick counter leg kick but Ortiz just manages to avoid it.
Michael Sanna has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tito Ortiz .

and Sanna makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Ortiz really felt that one!
The crowd cheers as Sanna lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ortiz doesn't seem phased though.
Ortiz chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sanna can pounce on him.
Sanna lands a nice shot that snaps Ortiz 's head back.
Ortiz shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sanna defends it nicely.

Sanna shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Ortiz eats them both and turns towards Sanna to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Sanna explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Ortiz looks winded!
Sanna moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Ortiz is still on wobbly legs! Can Sanna finish him?
Sanna lands a nice shot to the body.
Sanna fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Ortiz seems to have recovered his senses.
Nice uppercut lands for Sanna. That snapped Ortiz 's head back.
We've been informed that Ortiz has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Sanna throws a shot to the body.
Sanna comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Sanna lands with a kick to the temple. Ortiz shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Sanna pounces like a tiger and cracks Ortiz with a vicious hook! Ortiz is down but not out! Sanna follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!
