Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Garrett Turner (ranked 8873 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robbie Brandt (ranked 5419 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Garrett Turner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robbie Brandt!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brandt shoots in and gets a takedown into Turner's guard.
Brandt is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Brandt wants to stand but Turner has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Brandt stands up over Turner, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Turner wants to get back to his feet but Brandt is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Brandt stays in close to Turner's body and controls the position.
Turner is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Turner could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Turner wants to improve his position but instead Brandt has moved into half guard.

Turner is defending against the submission attempts here by Brandt.

Brandt is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Turner defends it well.
Brandt stops Turner from getting back to his feet.
Turner is looking for a sweep. Brandt is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Brandt perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
It looks like Brandt might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Brandt uses his free foot to push down on Turner's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Turner.

Brandt has hold of Turner's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Turner manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Brandt tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
Turner is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Turner tries to get back to half guard but can't.
We've been informed that Brandt has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Turner sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Brandt lands with a punch from half guard.
Turner is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Brandt scores with a couple of nice shots.
Turner wants to get back to his feet.
Brandt is looking to advance position but Turner won't allow it.

Brandt stalling.
Turner tries to roll over but Brandt keeps him under control.
Brandt works his way into side control.
Turner regains half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Brandt is taking a breather. Turner says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Turner is looking to get back to full guard here but Brandt has managed to pass to side control instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robbie Brandt dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Brandt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Turner sprawls well. Turner wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Brandt gets slowly back to his feet.
Garrett Turner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Brandt pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Turner went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Brandt throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Turner tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Brandt is in Turner's guard.
Turner wants to get back to his feet but Brandt passes into half guard.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Brandt connects with a nice short shot to Turner's temple.

Brandt tries to pass the half guard into mount. Turner knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Brandt slips a nice elbow through Turner's hands, connecting with Turner's forehead.
Brandt is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Turner tries to get to full guard but Brandt has control of the leg.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brandt not doing much here.
Let's hope that Brandt has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Brandt is continuing to stall.
Turner pushes Brandt off looking to stand but Brandt dives back in and keeps control.
Turner is looking to improve his position.
Brandt stalling.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The adventures of Brandt the control monster continue. Boring.
Brandt wants to stand up but Turner has a hold of him and won't allow it.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Brandt is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Turner wants to improve his position but Brandt is controlling well.
Brandt is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Brandt looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brandt takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Robbie Brandt has got the better of the ground game so far.
Turner keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Turner tries to hold on but Brandt postures up.

Turner tries to improve his position but instead Brandt has taken his back!

Brandt is punishing Turner with some ground and pound.
Brandt lands with a big left hand that may well have hurt his opponent. Can Turner hold on?!
Turner is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Turner tries to roll but Brandt sticks to his back.
Brandt has good solid back control here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Robbie Brandt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
