Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Scot Barnes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jake Iceman !
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, James Glass and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes swats away the attempt to clinch by Iceman .
Barnes wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Iceman drives through with a takedown into Barnes's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Barnes has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Iceman can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Iceman passes Barnes's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Barnes wants to get back to his feet.
Barnes wants to control but Iceman is keeping busy.
Barnes is not content to let Iceman control the position.
Iceman is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Barnes moves into full guard.
Barnes is trying to control the position but Iceman postures up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Iceman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Barnes has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Iceman has managed to get both his arms back between Barnes's legs - danger averted.
Barnes throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Barnes trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Barnes gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Iceman to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Barnes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Iceman won't allow Barnes to sweep him here.
Iceman wants to control from the top but Barnes keeps moving.

Iceman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barnes swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Barnes wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Barnes working for a triangle but Iceman defends it easily.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Barnes has taken the fight to the clinch.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Barnes has picked Iceman up - he's going for a ride! Barnes dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Barnes keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Iceman is trying to maintain the position but Barnes is very close to passing his half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Iceman has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Barnes is on him like a limpet, forcing Iceman back against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Barnes shoots in and drives through. Iceman sprawls well.
Barnes throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Iceman stuffs the takedown attempt from Barnes. Barnes gets slowly back to his feet.

Iceman closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Iceman lands in his opponent's guard.
Iceman wants to pass the guard but Barnes is keeping the position.

Iceman stands up over Barnes, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Barnes is looking to control Iceman 's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Barnes avoid being mounted?

Barnes is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Iceman wants to pass to mount but Barnes is defending the position.

Iceman is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Barnes!
Barnes wants to hold on but Iceman pushes him away.
Iceman blocks Barnes's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Iceman goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Barnes turns into him and now he's in Iceman 's guard.

Barnes has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Iceman controls Barnes momentarily but Barnes frees himself.
Barnes is stalling in the full guard.
Barnes keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Iceman 's head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Barnes with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Iceman working for submissions but it's allowed Barnes to get to half guard.
It looks like Barnes is going to stand back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Barnes stands up out of the half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Iceman showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Barnes tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Iceman manages to circle out of the way.
Iceman lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Iceman lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Barnes backs up against the cage.
Iceman throws a leg kick but Barnes sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Barnes is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.

Iceman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Barnes wants to get back to his feet.
Iceman wants to take a breather but Barnes is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Iceman wants to pass the guard but Barnes is defending well.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Barnes goes for a takedown in the clinch but Iceman prevents it.

Barnes gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Iceman moves into full guard.
Barnes is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Iceman is trying to control the position but Barnes postures up.
Barnes is working Iceman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Barnes gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Iceman throws a right hand that Barnes ducks under and follows up with a left that Barnes also avoids with ease.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Iceman throws a right and a left that both miss.
Barnes is looking to counter the offense by Iceman and move into the clinch.
Iceman has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Barnes clinches with his opponent.

Barnes breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Sloppy strikes from Iceman . Those never looked like landing.

Barnes shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Iceman 's guard.

Scot Barnes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Jake Iceman is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

I would just about give that final round to Jake Iceman .
