Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Casey Jones (ranked 6733 p4p, 596 weight class) and Conor Martin (ranked 8381 p4p, 642 weight class). Jones's entrance music is Turtle Power. A fine choice. Casey Jones has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Casey Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Conor Martin!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Bruno Lombardi and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Martin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Jones is trying to stand up here but Martin is controlling him well.
Martin is figuring out what he wants to do next.
It looks like Martin might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Martin is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Martin to get the leverage.

Martin is working for a submission of some sort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Martin is taking a breather. Jones says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Martin trying to pass the guard but Jones defending well.
Well, if Martin is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Martin seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Jones pushes Martin off looking to stand but Martin dives back in and keeps control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Still in half guard, Martin seems content to control.
Martin missing with the ground and pound from half guard.

Martin is working for a kimura but Jones is defending it quite comfortably.
Jones knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Martin on the ground.

Jones tries to kick Martin off but Martin keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Jones definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Jones is trying to stand up here but Martin is controlling him well.
Jones avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Martin.
Jones looks like he's trying to stand up.

Martin is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Martin eventually gives up the hold.
Martin is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Jones wants to get back to his feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Martin thows a huge punch but Jones dodges it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Conor Martin dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Martin decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Martin maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Jones could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Martin has cracked it and Jones is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Martin!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Conor Martin!
A very excited looking Conor Martin made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
