Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dylan OConnor (ranked 6300 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dizzy Lugo (ranked 5703 p4p, 0 weight class). OConnor's entrance music is What's up Your's. A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
OConnor throws a lazy head kick
and Lugo counters with a two punch combo.
Lugo lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

OConnor is rocked!

It looks like Dylan OConnor has been cut.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Lugo.
Oh OConnor is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A head kick misses from Lugo.
Lugo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but OConnor moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
OConnor fails with the takedown.
OConnor avoids the head kick by Lugo.
OConnor seems to have got his legs back now.
Lugo fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and OConnor has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
OConnor tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lugo paws at him with a jab and circles away.
OConnor fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
OConnor darts in looking for a takedown but Lugo gets double underhooks and turns OConnor into the cage.

OConnor wants to land a leg kick but Lugo is out of range.
Lugo goes for a double leg but OConnor avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as OConnor continues to drive forward.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lugo is defended easily by OConnor.

Lugo manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Lugo utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lugo keeping moving, preventing OConnor from controlling successfully.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lugo is trying to control the position but OConnor postures up.
Lugo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with OConnor. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lugo is looking to stand up but OConnor isn't so interested in that idea.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
OConnor moves to clinch but Lugo breaks away
and OConnor takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Lugo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lugo blocks a head kick by OConnor.
Lugo throws a low kick but OConnor moves out of range easily.

OConnor rushes Lugo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
OConnor tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Lugo gets control of OConnor's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lugo will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
OConnor stands up over Lugo, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Lugo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
OConnor slips nicely into half guard.
OConnor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Lugo is controlling OConnor's position as best he can from this difficult position.

Lugo thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on OConnor if he has to take too many more of those.

OConnor shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Lugo's guard.

Lugo has his feet on OConnor's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
OConnor shoots in looking for a takedown. Lugo tries to sprawl out of it but OConnor keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lugo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

OConnor closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - OConnor lands in his opponent's guard.

OConnor is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lugo is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lugo has escaped and now he's on top!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

OConnor pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Lugo is looking to score with low kicks.
Donk. Lugo catches OConnor right on the button with a cross.
The fight stays on the outside here - OConnor looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lugo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

OConnor changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Lugo tries to avoid it but OConnor manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Lugo to the ground. Lugo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

OConnor tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lugo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten OConnor somewhat.

Lugo wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and OConnor manages to pass to side control.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
OConnor is keen to just control but Lugo is a slippery customer.

OConnor tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Lugo manages to circle out of the way.

Lugo is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Dylan OConnor overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Lugo tries to free his leg and advance position but OConnor is retaining full guard.

Lugo closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. OConnor did well to prevent Lugo getting side control.

OConnor wants to control from the top but Lugo keeps moving.

I've got Lugo winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
