Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Mickey Crane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Linus Paul!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paul keeps the fight on the outside.

Paul closes the distance and pushes Crane back into the cage.
Crane drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Paul gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Crane lands a takedown into guard.
Crane has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Paul manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Crane manages to get himself to full guard.

Paul pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Crane is keeping the position for now.
Crane trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Crane has his foot on Paul's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Paul works his way back into a safe position though.
Crane trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Paul gets to his feet. Crane looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Paul takes the fight into the clinch.
Crane changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Paul fights it off and pushes away nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Paul closes the distance and pushes Crane back into the cage.
Crane keeps control of Paul as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Paul lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Paul wants to work for an arm triangle but Crane is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Paul wants to pass the guard but Crane is defending well.
Crane misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Paul is looking to take a break and control but Crane is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Crane looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Crane flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Crane might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Crane tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Crane on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Paul keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Crane trying to control but Paul postures up.

Crane looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Crane tries to get to full guard but Paul has control of the leg.
Paul working the head and body with strikes.
Paul takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Paul has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Paul trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Paul lands a big shot there that rocks Crane but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Paul lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Paul wants to take his opponent's back but he's not managed it.
Crane swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
Paul avoids the attempt from Crane to control.
Crane is desperately trying to improve his position but Paul has a good base and remains in mount.
Paul lands a couple of good shots and Crane has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Paul cracks Crane with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Crane from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Paul looking for the rear naked choke. And he's got it! Crane taps!
