Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Black Rob (ranked 5848 p4p, 409 weight class) and Brian Claremont (ranked 23696 p4p, 483 weight class). Brian Claremont is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Black Rob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brian Claremont!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Lou da Vinci and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rob shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rob throws a leg kick
and Claremont counters with a stiff right hand.
Rob misses with a takedown attempt
and Claremont counters with a straight right hand.

Claremont drives through and clinches with Rob against the cage.
Claremont lands a body shot in the clinch.

Claremont breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Rob doesn't succeed with the takedown
letting Claremont counter with a right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Black Rob. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rob gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Claremont counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Claremont displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rob.
Rob misses with a takedown attempt - Claremont sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
It seemed like Claremont was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Claremont scores with a decent looking hook.

Rob shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Claremont counter with a right hand.
Claremont turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Rob fails with a takedown attempt.
Rob shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Claremont as he avoids it easily.
A nice side step and Claremont releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Claremont ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Rob has his takedown stuffed
and Rob takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Claremont wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Rob misses with a hook
and Claremont counters with a one-two to the body.
Rob is breathing heavily.

Claremont fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rob, pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Claremont creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Claremont lands a right hand that snaps the head of Rob backwards.
Claremont working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Claremont scores with a shoulder strike.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice body punch from Claremont - that landed with a thud.
Claremont lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Rob backwards.
Claremont lands a body shot in the clinch.

Claremont breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Claremont scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
A slapping leg kick lands for Claremont.
Claremont scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Rob shoots in for a double leg but Claremont sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Black Rob seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rob goes for a double leg but Claremont avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Claremont continues to drive forward.
Rob misses with an uppercut
and Claremont connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


It looks like Black Rob has been cut.
Rob takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Rob takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Rob definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Rob takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Rob fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Claremont avoids it really well and circles away.
Claremont flicks out a counter leg kick but Rob steps away.
Claremont scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Claremont lands a jab to Rob's midsection.
Claremont with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Claremont scores with a body shot.

Claremont rushes Rob and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Claremont lands a shoulder strike.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Claremont creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Claremont lands with a short punch from the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rob is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Claremont gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Rob jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Claremont walks away with a smile on his face. Rob gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Rob takes a body punch but keeps moving.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Oooooh!!! Claremont has knocked Rob down with a huge combo! Claremont steps away and waves a wobbly Rob back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Rob is rocked!
Claremont works Rob's body with a nice hook.
Oh Rob is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Claremont throws a shot to the body.
Claremont with a jab.
Claremont has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Rob is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Claremont sends Rob crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Claremont is motioning to the referee to let Rob up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Claremont closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Rob! Claremont dives in looking to finish! Rob is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Brian Claremont!
