The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Shirou Masuda.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Higa gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Asce takes an elbow to the forehead.
Asce wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Higa connects with a nasty looking knee right to Asce's face.
It looks like Jo Asce has been cut.
Higa lands an elbow just above Asce 's eye.

Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Higa obliges.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Higa lands a nice elbow.
Higa crunches a lovely knee into Asce's ribcage.

Higa drops Asce with a big knee straight up the middle! Asce is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
Asce is rocked!

Asce is still on wobbly legs! Can Higa finish him?
Higa working the clinch nicely. Asce is working for position but Higa cracks him with a big knee to the head! Asce crumples up against the cage and Higa lands two more shots before the ref can save Asce! This one is all over!
