Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Umi Diablo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Bonafacio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bonafacio has chosen Pose - Daddy Yankee as his entrance music. Alex Bonafacio will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bonafacio wants to clinch up but Diablo keeps it at a distance.

Bonafacio throws a right hand that Diablo ducks under and follows up with a left that Diablo also avoids with ease.
Bonafacio rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Diablo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Bonafacio drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Diablo dives on top into guard.

Diablo decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

and Diablo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bonafacio's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Diablo postures up in Bonafacio's guard and throws a big left but Bonafacio blocks it.

Diablo advances position into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Diablo has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Bonafacio swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Diablo connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Bonafacio closes the distance looking to clinch

and Diablo counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bonafacio's guard now.

Bonafacio is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Bonafacio had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Diablo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Bonafacio Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Diablo's back instead.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Diablo is having to fend off submission attempts from Bonafacio, who is looking to sink in the choke. Bonafacio doesn't have the hooks in though and Diablo manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Diablo shoots in and bounces Bonafacio off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Diablo knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bonafacio on the ground.

Bonafacio has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Diablo can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Diablo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Bonafacio is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Diablo knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Diablo for a finish.

Bonafacio has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Diablo! Can he survive? No! He's out! Bonafacio gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
