Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rolando Rich (ranked 8984 p4p, 0 weight class) and Caleb Miles (ranked 5985 p4p, 0 weight class). Caleb Miles has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rolando Rich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Caleb Miles!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miles shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Rich pinned against the cage. Rich gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rich really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Miles scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Rich is looking for a sweep.
Miles taking a breather here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miles misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Rich tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Miles working away.

Rich seems a little lost for a moment, as Miles dominates the positioning.
Miles scores with punches from side control.
Miles tries to advance to mount but Rich denies him.

Miles is looking to take a break and control but Rich is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Miles looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
You can see the frustration on Rich's face as Miles controls the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rich regains half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Miles connects with a nice short shot to Rich's temple.

Miles with the ground and pound but Rich uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Miles stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rich swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Miles seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Miles is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Rich is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Rich has escaped and now he's on top!

Miles has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Rich distracts Miles with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Rich throws a strike but Miles rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Miles not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Rich managing to control the position.
Miles trying to control the position from guard on top but Rich is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Rich had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Miles defends it easily.
We've been informed that Miles has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Miles stays in close to Rich's body and controls the position.
Rich has Miles pulled in close to control his posture.
Rich can't keep his opponent in guard - Miles advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Miles is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Rich is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Miles scores with a couple of nice shots.
Miles takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Miles scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Rich trying to control but Miles postures up.

Miles seems to be working for a kimura but Rich defends the submission attempt.
Miles working over Rich with some ground and pound. Rich looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rich taking some punishment here, with Miles in his half guard.
Miles content to control rather than advance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rich closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Rich is trying to stall.
Rich trying to stall but Miles improves his position.
Rich wants to take the fight to the mat but Miles manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Miles works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Miles content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Miles pushing down on Rich's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Rich is positioning himself well to prevent Miles advancing to mount.
Miles is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Miles lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Miles with a couple of short strikes.
Rich is in a horrible position here. Miles smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Miles quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Miles but it's paid off an Rich is forced to tap! Nice work by Miles.
