Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Because I Can (ranked 4228 p4p, 332 weight class) and Derui Pake (ranked 1133 p4p, 122 weight class). Pake comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Band Maid - Thrill kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Derui Pake will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Pake.
I Can seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Pake connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Pake tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Pake lands a nice leg kick that just misses I Can's sensitive parts.
I Can swings widly with a right hand
and Pake counters with a left and a right that stings I Can.
Pake fakes high and swings low for a body shot but I Can manages to avoid it.
Pake leaves I Can with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Pake doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
I Can shoots in looking for a takedown but Pake manages to keep the fight standing, pushing I Can's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Pake throws out a counter right but I Can avoids it with no problem.

I Can changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Pake looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pake is trying to get back to half guard.
Pake felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

I Can tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no I Can has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

I Can shoots in but Pake avoids the takedown attempt easily.

I Can throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

I Can changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pake tries to avoid it but I Can manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pake to the ground. Pake escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

I Can leaves his chin hanging out and Pake seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! I Can crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

After winning the bout, Derui Pake thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
