Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Attish Mubeen (ranked 4832 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Al Sulwi (ranked 5454 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Attish Mubeen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gabriel Al Sulwi!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Dmitry Maklakov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Al Sulwi throws a combination. Mubeen tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Mubeen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Al Sulwi moves away.
Al Sulwi steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Mubeen.
Al Sulwi lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Mubeen closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Mubeen cracks Al Sulwi with a big elbow.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mubeen is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Al Sulwi's shoulder. That is not cool.
Al Sulwi can't do much from the bottom here.
Mubeen is putting a hurting on Al Sulwi here, landing some big shots from side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mubeen postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Mubeen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Al Sulwi on the ground.
Al Sulwi wants to control but Mubeen postures up.
Mubeen throws a strike aimed at the side of Al Sulwi's head but Al Sulwi avoids it well.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Mubeen wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Al Sulwi, who protects the arm well.
Mubeen is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Al Sulwi's shoulder. That is not cool.

Mubeen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mubeen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Al Sulwi is looking for a sweep. Mubeen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Al Sulwi is trying to maintain the position but Mubeen is very close to passing his half guard.

Mubeen thows a huge punch but Al Sulwi dodges it nicely.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Al Sulwi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mubeen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Mubeen is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Mubeen throws a big right hand that misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mubeen seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Attish Mubeen will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Al Sulwi throws a sloppy head kick

and Mubeen counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Al Sulwi is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mubeen is aware though and is defending well.
Mubeen controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Mubeen has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Mubeen stands and throws Al Sulwi's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Mubeen is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Al Sulwi can do to turn this around?

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Al Sulwi creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Al Sulwi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Attish Mubeen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Al Sulwi throws an elbow that misses. Mubeen uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Al Sulwi's guard. Nice move by Mubeen!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mubeen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
