The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Macotti.

Macotti fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jowars, pushing him back against the cage.
Jowars jumps guard but Macotti turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Macotti lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Jowars backwards.
Macotti lands an elbow that stopped Jowars in his tracks for a moment.

It looks like Hemfsford Jowars has been cut.
Macotti lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Macotti lands a nice elbow.
Macotti prevents a takedown attempt there.
Jowars takes a shot to the head.
Macotti lands an elbow inside that Jowars shrugs off.

Macotti lands a right hand that snaps the head of Jowars backwards.

Hemfsford Jowars's cut is getting worse.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jowars is trying to drag Macotti to the mat but Macotti just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hemfsford Jowars. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jowars is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Macotti lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

A nice glancing elbow lands by Macotti.
Jowars jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Macotti walks away with a smile on his face. Jowars gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Jowars throws a sloppy head kick and Macotti moves out of range easily.
Jowars shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Macotti moves into the clinch.
Macotti working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Macotti creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Jowars's defenses.

Hemfsford Jowars's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Macotti lands with a short shot to the head.

Jeez, Hemfsford Jowars's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
