Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, richard wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vin Seppala!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Aleksandr Martynov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
wallace shoots in but no luck this time.

Seppala scores with a takedown into wallace's guard.
wallace looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Seppala puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

wallace actively working from the bottom here.
wallace misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Seppala working wallace over with strikes.
Seppala seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Seppala thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed wallace's head.
Seppala seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but wallace does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

wallace throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Seppala is figuring out what he wants to do next.
wallace wants to control but Seppala is keeping busy.

wallace tries to kick Seppala off but Seppala keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Seppala feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
wallace wants to sweep here but Seppala controlling him for the moment.
wallace wants to stand and escape but Seppala is having none of it.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Seppala passes to side control.

Seppala has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Seppala is looking to chop away at wallace's legs.

wallace gets the takedown into side control.

wallace tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no wallace has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Seppala manages to get back to half guard.
Seppala is trying to get back to full guard.
Seppala preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Seppala is controlling wallace's posture.
wallace is looking to stand up but Seppala won't let him.
wallace stands and throws Seppala's legs to the side, diving into side control.

wallace swings around for an armbar but Seppala sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into wallace's guard.

wallace is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vin Seppala dominated that round.
That's time! wallace's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



wallace tries to keep at a distance but Seppala has taken the fight into the clinch.
Seppala is working for takedown but wallace is calmly controlling the position for now.

wallace escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
wallace works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Seppala misses with a wild combination.

wallace clinches up with Seppala and pushes him back against the cage.
wallace prevents the takedown attempt.
Knees to the body from wallace.
wallace misses with a knee strike.

wallace wants the takedown. Seppala is fighting it off but wallace persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Seppala's guard against the cage.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Seppala. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
wallace in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Seppala keeping moving, preventing wallace from controlling successfully.
Seppala is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Seppala wants to sweep but no luck.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Seppala pulls wallace in to control the position.
Seppala looking to hit a scissor sweep but wallace is one step ahead there.
wallace trying to control the position from guard on top but Seppala is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - wallace looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

wallace manages to break the clinch.
wallace tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
wallace looks frusrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
wallace pulls out of a head kick attempt.
wallace scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
wallace misses with a takedown attempt

and Seppala counters with a single leg into guard. wallace didn't expect that.

wallace is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Seppala is controlling him.

Seppala drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Seppala seems to have locked his on tight now - wallace screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Seppala, as he picks up the win!
