Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jess Blanchard (ranked 6583 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paulo Torres (ranked 7387 p4p, 0 weight class). Torres has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Paulo Torres will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Torres has Blanchard up against the cage in a clinch.
Torres looks winded!

Torres breaks from the clinch.

Blanchard shoots in and gets a takedown into Torres's guard.

Blanchard gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Blanchard looking to score a takedown here. Torres is defending well but Blanchard drives through and ends up in Torres's guard.

Blanchard stands and steps away. Torres gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Blanchard gets a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Blanchard tries to break free but Torres pushes him back against the cage.
Blanchard is trying to pull guard but Torres turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Blanchard breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Torres avoids the head kick by Blanchard.

Torres fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Blanchard, pushing him back against the cage.

Blanchard jumps guard and drags Torres to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Blanchard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Blanchard had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Torres defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blanchard pulls Torres in close to prevent any damage.
Blanchard might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Blanchard has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Blanchard looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Torres is defending well. Blanchard quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Torres has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Blanchard celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
