Coming up we have a middleweight kickboxing rules bout between Ramon Gallegos (ranked 14364 p4p, 685 weight class) and John Walker (ranked 4182 p4p, 463 weight class). Walker is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Another One Bites the Dust. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gallegos looks to throw a body kick
letting Walker counter with a right hand.
Gallegos fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
John Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gallegos avoids a punch combination nicely.
Walker slips a straight right by Gallegos.
Walker lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Walker misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Walker tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Gallegos was well out of range. Poor timing from Walker.
Walker connects with a nice looking jab.


It looks like Ramon Gallegos has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gallegos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A punch lands to the side of Walker 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Walker throws out a loose jab but Gallegos uses good head movement to avoid it.
Gallegos throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Walker steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Gallegos.

Walker throws a series of strikes that have Gallegos backpedaling.

Gallegos tries a head kick but it misses.

Gallegos throws a lazy right hand but Walker sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Walker scores with a jab. Gallegos acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Walker throws a push kick but Gallegos slaps the foot to one side.
Gallegos ducks under a wild hook from Walker.
Walker throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Walker tries to score with a low kick but Gallegos moves his leg out of the way.
Gallegos doesn't manage to clinch there - Walker circles away.
Walker moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Gallegos misses the jab.
Gallegos lands with a shot to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Walker dominated that round.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Walker pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Gallegos wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Walker gets off balance looking for a body kick

Walker lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Walker gets through Gallegos's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Walker misses with a hook to the ribs.
Gallegos throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Gallegos prevents a body shot from Walker.
Walker tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Gallegos pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes.

Walker misses with a punch to the body.
Nice body punch from Walker - that landed with a thud.
Walker fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Gallegos unloads a knee to the mid-section. Walker lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Gallegos pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes.

Walker is looking to control Gallegos's arms but Gallegos gets an underhook and turns him. Now Walker has his back to the ropes.
Walker throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Walker has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Gallegos's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Walker misses with a punch to the body.
Walker looking to stall.

Walker lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Walker lands a left hand.
Walker lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Gallegos or not.
Walker softening up his opponent with strikes, against the ropes.

Walker stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Walker lands a shoulder strike.
Walker lands a hook that snaps the head of Gallegos backwards.
Walker lands with a short head shot on the inside.


Gallegos is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Walker creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Oh Gallegos is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Walker struggles to land a body shot inside as Gallegos controls his hands.
Gallegos misses with an elbow strike.

Walker manages to break the clinch.

Gallegos throws a left and a right that both miss
and Walker counters with a slapping leg kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Walker throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Gallegos seems to have got his legs back now.
John Walker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Walker throws a switch kick that catches Gallegos on the top of the head and drops him to the canvas! Gallegos looks hurt - I'm not sure he's going to get back up! The referee starts the count but calls it off at seven as Gallegos flops around on the canvas, clearly in no position to continue! This fight is over!
