Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Giorgio Armani (ranked 727 p4p, 91 weight class) and Dimitri Romanov (ranked 1748 p4p, 215 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Giorgio Armani!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dimitri Romanov!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Daniel Franklin and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Armani throws a right hand that misses
and Armani takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Romanov lands with a hook. Armani tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Romanov misses with an uppercut. Armani saw that one coming.
Armani appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Romanov has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Romanov loads up on a big right hand but Armani slips the punch.
Romanov throws a big shot that misses.
Romanov just misses with a punch to the body.
Romanov misses with a hook

and Armani counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Romanov!
Armani wants to control but Romanov is keeping him busy.

Armani tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Armani working away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Armani wants to lay and pray for a moment but Romanov keeps working.
Romanov is trying to improve his position.
Armani working the strikes but Romanov uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Armani missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Armani wants to control but Romanov is keeping him busy.
Romanov missing with punches from the bottom.
Romanov misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Armani uses his free foot to push down on Romanov's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Romanov.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Armani has hold of Romanov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Romanov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Romanov wants to control but Armani is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Romanov is wriggling around trying to escape.
Poor strikes thrown by Armani there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Armani has control of Romanov's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Romanov regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Armani is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Romanov can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Romanov can't escape the position.

Armani with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Romanov bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Romanov loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Romanov throws a big elbow that misses.

Armani has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Romanov should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Armani has tightened it up now! Romanov should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Giorgio Armani!

A relieved looking Giorgio Armani thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
