Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Golden!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Genghis Can!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ron Honeybunn and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Golden closes the distance and clinches.
Golden really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Can prevents Golden from breaking the clinch.

Can manages to break the clinch.

Can gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Can effectively controlling the action here.
Golden misses with a hook from the clinch.

Can breaks the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Can sizes up Golden with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.


It looks like Nick Golden has been cut.

Golden takes the fight into the clinch.
Can missing with knees to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Can pulls guard successfully.
Golden trying to control the position from guard on top but Can is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Can controlling the position.

Can working for a triangle but Golden defends it easily.

Can has his foot on Golden's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Golden works his way back into a safe position though.
Golden's corner is telling him to maintain position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Golden trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Can controlling Golden's posture.
Can keeping moving, preventing Golden from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Golden wants to stand and escape but instead Can has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Golden wants to control the position but Can says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Golden wants to control but Can is keeping busy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Can decides to return to a standing position.
Can scores with the left hand. Golden knows he should have avoided that one.

Can tries to keep at a distance but Golden has taken the fight into the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Golden blocks an uppercut.

Can has clasped his hands together around Golden's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Golden tries to improve position but can't.
Golden is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Can off and has taken his back!
Golden is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Can prevents Golden from getting a body triangle.
Golden misses with a punch to the head.
Can trying to control the hands but Golden breaks the grip.
Can breaks Golden's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Can stays in close to Golden's body and controls the position.
Can passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Can is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Golden is looking to reverse the position.
Can working the ground and pound.
Can is working Golden over with some ground and pound from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Genghis Can dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Nick Golden's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Can clinches up with Golden and pushes him back against the cage.
Can keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Golden's efforts to push away.

Golden gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Golden is looking to stand up but Can won't let him.

Can looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Golden has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Can is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Golden wants to stand but Can has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Can manages to escape and get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Golden circles away from the clinch attempt
and Can takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Golden throws a wild hook but Can just manages to duck under it and - ooooh! Golden gets nailed by a brutal uppercut which crumples him back against the cage! The referee jumps in - Can raises his hands in celebration and walks away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Genghis Can!
