And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Roberto Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Regan shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sanchez as he avoids it easily.
Regan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Sanchez.
Regan throws a nice outside leg kick.
Sanchez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sanchez shoots in for a takedown but Regan shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Regan would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Sanchez is working an open guard so Regan takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Regan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sanchez did well to prevent Regan getting side control.
Regan is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Regan decides to stand and escape the position.
Sanchez tries to clinch up but Regan circles away and keeps his distance.
Regan shoots for a double leg takedown but Sanchez sprawls well. He's pushed Regan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Sanchez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sanchez shoots in looking for a takedown but Regan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Sanchez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Sanchez dives in and grabs Regan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Regan pushes down on Sanchez's head and hops out.

Regan moves into range and clinches up with Sanchez.

Regan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Regan dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Sanchez. That did some damage!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sanchez walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Regan checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Regan throws a big counter combination but Sanchez scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Regan wants to stand up but Sanchez is controlling him.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

It looked like Regan was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Regan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sanchez can do to turn this around?

Sanchez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Regan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sanchez, pushing him back against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Regan takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Well Regan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
