Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Matt Roberts!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Travis Siebert!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Santiago Holmes and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Siebert clinches up against the cage.

Siebert's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Siebert defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Roberts.
Roberts keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That kick from Siebert tenderised Roberts's leg. Roberts is trying to keep his angry face on.
Roberts lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Roberts.


It looks like Travis Siebert has been cut.
Roberts throws a nice looking combination but Siebert bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Siebert is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Siebert throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Roberts has closed the distance and engaged Siebert in a clinch.

Roberts manages to break the clinch.
Matt Roberts seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Siebert fails to land the takedown.
Siebert shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Roberts sprawls well. Roberts wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Siebert gets slowly back to his feet.

Siebert shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Roberts as he jumps to the side.

Roberts has closed the distance and engaged Siebert in a clinch.

Roberts breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Siebert thuds his shin into the meat of Roberts's side.
Roberts shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Siebert eats them both and turns towards Roberts to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Roberts shoots in and gets a takedown into Siebert's guard.
Roberts trying to control but Siebert is working from the bottom.
Siebert is trying to keep Roberts in close.
Siebert avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Roberts postures up and lands a big shot to Siebert's brow.
Siebert wants to sweep here but Roberts controlling him for the moment.
Roberts trying to control but Siebert is working from the bottom.
Siebert is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Roberts postures up.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Siebert is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Siebert shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Roberts counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Roberts scores with a body shot.
Roberts lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Siebert at a distance.
Siebert looks winded!

Roberts looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Siebert wants to stand back up but Roberts manages to pass into side control.
Roberts trying to control the action but Siebert is working from the bottom.
Roberts is staying tight to Siebert's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Roberts works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Siebert wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Siebert is letting Roberts control him for a moment.

Roberts stands up and beckons Siebert to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Good exchange - Roberts coming out on top.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Siebert clinches up against the cage.
A short right from Roberts on the inside.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Siebert wants to stall.
Siebert jumps guard but Roberts turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Roberts escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Siebert tries to bum rush Roberts with a series of wild strikes but Roberts uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roberts throws a wild body kick that Siebert sees coming a mile off.

Roberts lands a left and a right that send Siebert crashing to the mat, dazed. Roberts thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Siebert is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Roberts throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Siebert is still on wobbly legs! Can Roberts finish him?
Roberts is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Siebert can do to turn this around?

Roberts closes the distance and clinches.
Siebert is breathing heavily.
Roberts is stalling here.

Siebert tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Roberts just stands there and leans against the cage.

Roberts jumps guard and drags Siebert to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Siebert seems to have recovered his senses.
Roberts manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Siebert manages to get himself to full guard.

Roberts throwing strikes but missing.

Roberts wants to control from the top but Siebert keeps moving.
Siebert thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Roberts gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Siebert shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Roberts as he avoids it easily.

Roberts manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Siebert on his heels. He'll look to pass Siebert's guard now, I'm sure.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Roberts lands a couple of elbows.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Roberts accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Siebert is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Siebert throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Siebert utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Siebert is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Roberts is aware though and is defending well.
Roberts trying to control but Siebert is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Roberts gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Siebert misses with a straight left.
Siebert has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Roberts.
Roberts throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Siebert breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Siebert avoids the head kick by Roberts.

Siebert manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Roberts on his heels. He'll look to pass Roberts's guard now, I'm sure.
Roberts trying to keep a closed guard but Siebert is proving a slippery customer.
Siebert slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Matt Roberts overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Siebert is fighting to break Roberts's control of his arms but Roberts is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Roberts can't keep his opponent in guard - Siebert advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Siebert with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Siebert seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roberts thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Siebert tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.

Siebert wants to control but Roberts is having none of it.
Siebert is trying desperately to improve position.
Roberts landing strikes from the mount and Siebert is in trouble!
Roberts looking to control but Siebert is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Roberts has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Siebert's face.
Siebert keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Siebert is squirming around, avoiding Roberts's attempts to control the action.
Siebert wants to control but Roberts is having none of it.
Roberts content just to control the position here.
Roberts unloading with bombs!
Roberts loads up with a big shot that hurts Siebert! He's pulled Roberts in close but Roberts has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Siebert survive? More strikes from Roberts and Siebert is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!
