Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Masaki Kimura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jones Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kimura comes to the cage accompanied by Yankee Station. Jones Morris is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Masaki Kimura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jones Morris!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, John Mangel and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimura tries for a takedown but Morris sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Morris throws a head kick that misses.
Kimura throws a head kick but Morris moves out of range.
Kimura cracks Morris with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.


It looks like Jones Morris has been cut.
Kimura throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Morris stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and Morris decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kimura's guard.
Morris looks gassed!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Morris stopping the sweep attempt from Kimura.

Kimura not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Morris postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kimura is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Morris, into his guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Morris wants to get back to his feet but Kimura is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

and Morris counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Morris.
Kimura lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Morris!

Kimura postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Morris looks a forlorn figure.
Kimura is stalling here but it's allowed Morris to get half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kimura drops an elbow to the side of Morris's head.
Kimura is keen to just control but Morris is a slippery customer.

Kimura stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Morris to get to his feet.
Morris takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Kimura closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Morris rushes Kimura and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Kimura's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Kimura duly obliges.

Morris passes Kimura's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Morris wants to pass to mount but Kimura is defending the position.
Morris frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Kimura is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Morris is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Kimura can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Jones Morris has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Masaki Kimura is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Morris goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Kimura is on top in guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Masaki Kimura showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kimura, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
