Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Joseph Jones and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A head kick misses from Nguyen .
Gomez closes the distance and pushes Nguyen back into the cage.
Nguyen is trying to break the clinch but Gomez has him pressed against the cage.
Gomez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gomez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Gomez manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Gomez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Nguyen 's guard.
Gomez forces his way into half guard.
Gomez content to control rather than advance.
Gomez prevents Nguyen from standing back up.

Gomez decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Gomez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Nguyen 's half guard.
Nguyen is defending against the submission attempts here by Gomez.
Gomez prevents Nguyen from improving his position.
Gomez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Nguyen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gomez is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Nguyen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Let's hope that Gomez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Gomez stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Nguyen to get to his feet.
Gomez shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Nguyen scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Gomez manages to mount him!

Gomez cracks Nguyen with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Gomez postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Nguyen looks a forlorn figure.

Nguyen misses with a wild body shot.
Gomez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Nguyen , pushing him back against the cage.
Gomez manages to pull guard.
Gomez controlling the position.
Gomez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Gomez lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gomez works over Nguyen with some ground and pound from guard.
Gomez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Nguyen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gomez on the ground.
Gomez passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Nguyen !

Nguyen is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Gomez locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Nguyen is forced to tap!
