With a record of 23 - 20 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antonio Jose De Sucre!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacLeod tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
De Sucre pulls out of a head kick attempt.
De Sucre staying out of range there.
De Sucre slips under a jab.
De Sucre throws a push kick but MacLeod slaps the foot to one side.
De Sucre cracks MacLeod with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from De Sucre.
MacLeod half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
MacLeod blocks a head kick by De Sucre.
De Sucre misses with a head kick.
De Sucre misses with a hook.
De Sucre throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
De Sucre cracks MacLeod with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
De Sucre throws a head kick that misses.
De Sucre throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and MacLeod counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
De Sucre misses with a hook. MacLeod ducked under it nicely.
MacLeod changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
MacLeod scores with a leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
De Sucre throws a head kick that misses

and MacLeod counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by MacLeod.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

MacLeod is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
MacLeod stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. De Sucre swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
MacLeod wants to control from the top but De Sucre keeps moving.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

De Sucre throws a right hand that MacLeod ducks under and follows up with a left that MacLeod also avoids with ease.
De Sucre throws a right and a left that MacLeod avoids nicely.
MacLeod's hands are dropping dangerously low here and De Sucre connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! MacLeod scrambles back to his feet.
De Sucre missing with a left hand there. MacLeod was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
De Sucre swings and misses with a hook to the body.
De Sucre throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Nice defenses there by De Sucre.
De Sucre swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
De Sucre bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
De Sucre throws a hook but MacLeod avoids it easily.
De Sucre gets off balance looking for a body kick

and MacLeod counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

MacLeod seems to be working for a kimura but De Sucre defends the submission attempt.

MacLeod is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

MacLeod is looking to pass De Sucre's guard but actually De Sucre recovers to full guard.
De Sucre is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
We've been hearing good reports from MacLeod's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
MacLeod advances to half guard.

MacLeod has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can De Sucre defend it? MacLeod steps over the head and cranks it - De Sucre is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for MacLeod!

During a confident post fight interview, Connor MacLeod thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
In defeat, Antonio Jose De Sucre stepped up to the mic, saying 'My Father is yelling from the Heavens! I will not disappoint him again!'.
