PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dominique Bell (ranked 3188 p4p, 363 weight class) and Luiz Correia Azevedo (ranked 3191 p4p, 364 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Azevedo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Azevedo digs a good body shot into Bell's ribs.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Azevedo has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
A punch combination from Azevedo misses.
Bell looks for a takedown but Azevedo sprawls well.
Bell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Azevedo misses with a jab, cross combination.
Azevedo lands a nice hook to Bell's body. Bell takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Bell tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Azevedo defends well and Bell ends up having to push Azevedo into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dominique Bell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Azevedo misses with a jab, cross combination.
Bell tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Azevedo swivels and escapes.
Azevedo throws a big counter head kick but Bell avoids it with no problem.
Azevedo misses the shot to the body.

Bell bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Bell closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Bell tries to pass the half guard into mount. Azevedo knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Azevedo tries to get to full guard but Bell has control of the leg.

Bell works his foot free and advances to mount.
Bell takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Bell throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.
