Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Keisuke Maeda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cathail Murphy!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and James Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maeda tries to close the distance and clinch up but Murphy swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Murphy is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Murphy gets a double leg takedown into Maeda's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Murphy is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Murphy's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Murphy decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Maeda fails with the takedown

and Murphy holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Murphy pulls guard effortlessly.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Murphy seems keen to control Maeda's posture.
Murphy is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Maeda pushes Murphy off looking to stand but Murphy dives back in and keeps control.
Murphy controlling the pace.
Maeda tries to get to full guard but Murphy has control of the leg.
Murphy lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Murphy seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Murphy is trying for a kimura here. Maeda looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Murphy wins by kimura!
