The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcintyre clinches up against the cage.
Mcintyre breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Mcintyre really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mcintyre closes the distance and clinches.
Genius has hold of one of Mcintyre's legs. Mcintyre is fighting the takedown attempt but Genius gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Genius stays in close to Mcintyre's body and controls the position.

Mcintyre has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Genius can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Genius in particular looking to stall.
Mcintyre with the active half guard here but Genius passes nicely into side control.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Genius works to advance to full mount. Mcintyre defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Genius takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Let's hope that Genius has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Genius.
