Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wilson Kirk (ranked 25247 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karol Bedorf (ranked 5623 p4p, 0 weight class). Karol Bedorf is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kirk feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Kirk could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kirk wants to stand but Bedorf has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Bedorf looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Kirk puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Bedorf is trying to maintain the position but Kirk is very close to passing his half guard.
Bedorf is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Kirk stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Bedorf has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kirk is controlling Bedorf's posture.
Kirk wants to stand up but Bedorf is controlling him.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Bedorf passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Bedorf works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Bedorf wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kirk, who protects the arm well.
Bedorf tries to advance to mount but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kirk tries to bench press Bedorf off him but Bedorf keeps the position.
Bedorf throwing strikes but Kirk manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Kirk gets to mount! Bedorf was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.

Kirk moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Bedorf has worked his arm free - good work by Bedorf!
Bedorf is trying to control Kirk's posture but Kirk avoids it.

Kirk takes a little break here. Bedorf wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Kirk is trying to get an arm triangle but Bedorf is defending well.
Bedorf tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Kirk wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Wilson Kirk will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Kirk has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Bedorf can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Bedorf closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bedorf lands in his opponent's guard.

Kirk decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bedorf, up you get!
Bedorf blocks a head kick by Kirk.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Bedorf manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Kirk on his heels. He'll look to pass Kirk's guard now, I'm sure.

Karol Bedorf showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kirk looks like he's trying to stand up.

Well, if Bedorf is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Bedorf tries to clinch but Kirk moves out of range.
Kirk is looking to counter the offense by Bedorf and move into the clinch.

I would just about give that final round to Karol Bedorf.
