Pugberg closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Paddington did well to prevent Pugberg getting side control.

Paddington has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Pugberg is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Paddington.
Paddington gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Pugberg is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Paddington is just riding it out for now. Pugberg eventually gives up the hold.
My spies in Crapollas Gym inform me that Pugberg has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
Paddington is looking for a sweep. Pugberg is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Pugberg is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Pugberg is looking to take a break and control but Paddington is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Pugberg wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Paddington, who protects the arm well.

Paddington wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Pugberg has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Paddington's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Paddington is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Pugberg!
