Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Luis Engracia and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva misses with a takedown attempt - Hardcore sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Hardcore has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hardcore lands with a light punch inside.
It looks like Jose Silva has been cut.

Silva is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.
Silva jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hardcore walks away with a smile on his face. Silva gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Hardcore moves in looking to clinch but Silva pushes him off.

Hardcore is working on a single leg takedown against the ropes. Silva can't fight it off and eventually Hardcore manages to take the fight to the floor. Silva looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

and Silva counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Silva drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hardcore manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Silva has Hardcore in his guard.
Hardcore has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Silva has a closed guard, preventing Hardcore from standing up.
Hardcore might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Hardcore wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Silva is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Silva thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hardcore tries to clinch up.
Hardcore tries to close the distance and clinch up but Silva swats him away and circles back towards the center.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Silva moves in looking to clinch but Hardcore pushes him off.

and Silva counters with a shoot takedown. Hardcore fights it but they end up in guard.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
A telegraphed right hand from Hardcore misses the target.
Hardcore catches Silva with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Silva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hardcore can't do much from the bottom here.
Silva is trying to get an arm triangle but Hardcore is defending well.
Hardcore throws up a few punches.
Hardcore explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!

Silva drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Silva as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Hardcore screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Silva! Nice submission victory there!
