Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bobbie Wade!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jay Trapp!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Roosa Järviläinen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wade will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Trapp fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Trapp shoots for a takedown but Wade saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Trapp lands with a thumping leg kick.
Wade throws a right and a left that both miss.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Wade.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wade blocks a head kick by Trapp.
Trapp shoots in for a takedown but Wade shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Trapp lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

Trapp's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Trapp displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Wade.
Trapp shoots in looking for a takedown. Wade tries to sprawl out of it but Trapp keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wade manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Wade throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Trapp tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Wade is in Trapp's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Trapp slaps away a takedown attempt from Wade, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Trapp goes for a double leg but Wade avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wade continues to drive forward.
Trapp shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wade sprawls well. Wade wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Trapp gets slowly back to his feet.

Trapp misses with a takedown attempt - Wade sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Wade tries to score a power double leg takedown but Trapp sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wade somewhat.
Wade will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Trapp stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Trapp wants it to stay on the feet.
Trapp now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

and Wade counters with a two punch combo.

A close second round but Jay Trapp will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Trapp tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wade defends well and Trapp ends up having to push Wade into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Trapp swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Wade counters with a nice low kick that buckles Trapp's knee momentarily.
Wade misses with a takedown
and Trapp counters with a left to the body.
Trapp has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Wade throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wade really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Wade is trying to force a seperation but Trapp has the dominant position.
Wade wants to break the clinch but can't.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
A frustrated look appears on Wade's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Trapp shoots in but Wade avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Trapp takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Trapp throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wade's waist but Wade gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Trapp off to one side.
Wade misses with a series of wild punches.

And that's the end of the fight!
Bobbie Wade showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Trapp has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Jay Trapp decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
