Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Luis Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Karlsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcus Karlsson!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Daniel Cesar and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyes throws a leg kick but Karlsson moved away.

Reyes drives through with a takedown into guard.

Karlsson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Reyes wants to control from the top but Karlsson keeps moving.
Karlsson is controlling Reyes's posture.
Karlsson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Reyes controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Reyes throws and elbow that misses. Karlsson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Reyes's guard. Nice move by Karlsson!

Reyes throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Karlsson trying to control the position from guard on top but Reyes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Reyes tries for a kimura but Karlsson is defending well.

Reyes tries to stand but Karlsson controls the position and pulls Reyes into his guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Reyes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Karlsson as he jumps to the side.
Reyes walks forward, straight into a front kick from Karlsson.

Karlsson darts in and clinches Reyes up against the cage.
Karlsson drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Reyes gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Karlsson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Reyes is looking for a triangle but Karlsson pushes his legs off easily.
Karlsson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Karlsson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

and Reyes counters with a takedown into side control.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Reyes takes a little break here. Karlsson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Reyes is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Karlsson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Luis Reyes dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Reyes looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Karlsson!
Luis Reyes overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Reyes moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Karlsson has worked his arm free - good work by Karlsson!

and Karlsson counters with a shoot takedown. Reyes fights it but they end up in guard.
Reyes wants to sweep but no luck.
Karlsson is breathing heavily.

Reyes closes the distance and clinches up with Karlsson, looking for a takedown. Reyes pushes Karlsson against the cage but Karlsson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Karlsson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Reyes wants to sweep here but Karlsson controlling him for the moment.

Karlsson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reyes swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Karlsson landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Karlsson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Reyes keeps working.

Marcus Karlsson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Karlsson counters with a three punch combo that has Reyes backing up. Reyes nods at Karlsson to acknowledge the strikes.

Reyes working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Karlsson has passed into half guard!

Reyes slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Karlsson gets to his feet. Reyes looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Reyes throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Karlsson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.

Karlsson looking to sit in guard and control but Reyes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Karlsson has his feet on Reyes's thighs here. He's pushed Reyes off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Reyes screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
