The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davidsdottir fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Avellaneda went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Avellaneda shoots in looking for a takedown. Davidsdottir tries to sprawl out of it but Avellaneda keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Davidsdottir manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Avellaneda takes the fight into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Davidsdottir has Avellaneda pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Davidsdottir pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Avellaneda tumbling to the mat - Davidsdottir dives into Avellaneda's guard.
