Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Test Volkov (ranked 24976 p4p, 675 weight class) and Khalid Kadyrev (ranked 24601 p4p, 668 weight class). Khalid Kadyrev will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkov avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Kadyrev shoots in and drives through. Volkov sprawls well.
A head kick by Kadyrev misses
and Volkov counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Kadyrev thinking.
Kadyrev tries for a takedown but Volkov circles away easily
and Kadyrev takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Kadyrev is looking to clinch but Volkov is avoiding it.
Volkov throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Kadyrev sees it coming and avoids it easily.
And Kadyrev tries to counter it with a takedown but Volkov pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Kadyrev is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Volkov stuns Kadyrev with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been told by Volkov's head coaches at The Garden that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Test Volkov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Volkov counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Test Volkov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Khalid Kadyrev.

Volkov lands a nice hook to Kadyrev's body. Kadyrev takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Kadyrev takes a jab right on the kisser.
Kadyrev takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Kadyrev moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Volkov slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Volkov stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Volkov clobbers Kadyrev with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Volkov feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Kadyrev sprawling to the canvas! Kadyrev rolls over backwards and springs off the ropes and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Volkov finish him?!

Volkov bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kadyrev's head.
Volkov throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Kadyrev seems to have recovered his senses.
Volkov connects with a right hand. Kadyrev shakes it off.

Volkov cracks Kadyrev with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the ropes! Kadyrev falls to his knees and Volkov doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
