Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between El Misterioso Damballah (ranked 1317 p4p, 176 weight class) and Ben Turner (ranked 970 p4p, 127 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Turner gets tackled into the cage by Damballah. Damballah maintains the clinch.

Turner breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Turner has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Damballah fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Turner avoids it really well and circles away.
Horrible takedown attempt by Damballah or perhaps it was just good defense by Turner, which made it look bad.
Damballah cracks a nice hook into Turner's ribs.

No joy there for Damballah, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Turner tries to clinch but Damballah is having none of it.
Damballah's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Damballah duly obliges.

Damballah throws a right hand that Turner ducks under and follows up with a left that Turner also avoids with ease.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Turner gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Damballah to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Turner pulls Damballah in close to his closed guard and prevents Damballah from doing any damage or advancing position.

A little jabbing left from Turner on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Turner throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

That was a close round but I would say that El Misterioso Damballah will probably get the nod.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Turner got a little sloppy there for a moment and Damballah has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Turner has managed to get both his arms back between Damballah's legs - danger averted.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
