The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Yuen wants to get back to his feet but Powers is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Powers keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Yuen's head.
Yuen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Powers's guard.
Yuen is pushing down on Powers's leg trying to pass to half guard. Powers is fighting to maintain full guard but Yuen has managed to sneak the leg through.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Yuen uses his free foot to push down on Powers's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Powers.
Powers can't escape the position.
Yuen takes Powers's back, avoiding a couple of desperation strikes from the bottom.

Yuen looking to break Powers's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Powers remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Yuen will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yuen has the hooks in. Powers is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Yuen has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Powers! Can he survive? No! He's out! Yuen gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
